Azra Tech and Neptune Lines Partner to Propel Green Maritime Innovation

Azra Tech is proud to announce a new milestone in its commitment to sustainable shipping: a strategic partnership with Neptune Lines, a leading European car‑carrier operator for vehicles and heavy cargo.

In July 2022, Azra Tech applied its durable ultra‑low‑friction, biocide‑free, nano‑engineered hull coating, certified under the Blue Race Performance Guarantee, to the car‑carrier Neptune Aegli.

After 36 months of continuous operations across European ports, an intermediate inspection at the Lisnave shipyard in Setúbal confirmed that the hull maintains an exceptionally low surface roughness — a key indicator of coating durability and efficiency.

The results: significant fuel savings and reduced CO₂ emissions, exceeding initial expectations. The coating is fully compliant with IMO regulations (EEXI / CII) and contains no biocides or harmful components, making a tangible contribution to the United Nations SDG 14 “Life Below Water”.
